He's one of the smartest man in the wasteland, the Followers taught him well, he never ceases to amazes people with his skills in tinkering, guns, energy weapons and even medicine. Although he's also the laziest guy in the wasteland, couldn't even be bothered to go fetch the mail, but instead built a robot dog in one morning out of nothing but tin cans, some wires, and a fission battery.

Background:
Grew up in Baja, New California on his father's brahmin ranch. Sol's father was a very smart man, people all around thought Sol's genius mind was a gift from his father, rather than his hard work. This pisses Sol off to no end. He likes to tinker machinery in his free time. Also mildly interested in guns. He found an education while sneaking the Followers camp to "borrow" some medicine because his mother was sick. The Followers pity him, and teach him lessons from old books.

The folks around Baja were well off enough. But Sol hated the NCR from the very beginning. Thinking that their imperialistic nature is something that cannot be forgiven. They've lost virtues. They're not the same republic like they used to. Coming into smaller towns, claiming it as their own without the consent of the people. Barely making it better. What made it worse is that the stories of how traders would like to trade with Caesar's Legion rather than the NCR due to how safe the Legion protects their people. There weren't many good soldiers around, except for one man, whom he looked up with great respect, Private Hsu (James Hsu's father) He cares for the people, wake up many nights helping the caravan distributing food and water.

Sol joined the NCR military when he was 16 years old. His exceptional skills earned him a very high rank. Most Veteran Ranger needed to serve at least 20 years before they can get to where they are. Sol finished his training in under 10 years. But the NCR imperialism and corruption ticked him off to no end. The NCR awarded him his own Ranger Sequoia on the same day he left the army.

He travels the West for a while until he reaches the borders of the Colorado. There he met a young man in a blue duster, called himself Ulysses. The two became quick friends, they trade stories of Arizona and California. But before long, Ulysses had to return to his family in Dry Wells. They bid each other farewell, and never saw each other again.

A few years later in his travels, he found a small community along the mountain ranges of California, used to be called Death Valley. A community called the Divide. He stumbled across these people after discovering a secret path towards these mountain ranges. It was a peaceful community with a strong police force, well armed. People lived there happily. Sol had finally found a place to called home. So frequently travels between the Divide and California and Nevada bringing in food and supplies for the Divide. The people were grateful for him. This place felt like home.

But alas, it was not long before the two headed bear smells the secret trade routes. Crimson Caravan folks started pouring into the Divide, making their station there. And not long after that the Bear started to feast on the Divide. They set up camps, tax the people and claim people's homes through their "legal" terms. They say that the difference between the raiders and NCR is that NCR makes their crime legal before committing it. And this seems to be the case. And wherever there is the Bear, the hooves of the Bull follows. The Legion also came knocking on the Divide, and neither the Bear nor the Bull was happy with each other's presence. War started to rage on Divide's land. Bloodshed were endless. Sol's home is nothing but warzone for NCR and Legion.

Sol couldn't stand the bloodshed, his friends and comrades in the Divide suffered great pain. Their homes lost and burned to ashes. Sol decided he would end this. He snuck into an NCR camp, and stumble across something that seemed like schematics for nuclear warheads, apparently the Divide used to be missile silos bunker that held Nuclear bombs. This just might be the weapon he needed. He grabbed the schematics and head for the bunkers, activated the missiles and aimed it at the mountain ranges they called the divide. the mushroom cloud from afar may have caused him to have second thoughts, but by then it was too late. At last, the Divide is free from the warfare and bloodshed from Legion and NCR. the worst part about it is that only two people made it out alive that day, Solmund and the one they called Ulysses.

Years later, still mourning the loss of his friends, he became very old now. He saw that the Mojave Express was hiring courier to take an important package to the New Vegas Strip. Thinking that this could be his last job before retirement and secretly hoping that he'd meet trouble along the road, he took the job. Would you know it? Solmund came across a city boy in a checkered coat and a few Great Khans, all tied up with a pistol point blank. Sol smiled as the bullet met his brain. Waiting for Death to take him. Death was cruel, though. He woke up ten days later, feeling all sore in the body. His head hurting, he remembered Baja, his father, the Desert Rangers. But he had completely forgotten about the Divide.

Years later, wandering around west of Nevada, he finally came home. A ruin, destroyed by nuclear warheads. Ulysses was calling for him. Sol has forgotten what happened at the Divide, the man who destroyed the Divide was dead. Killed the night Benny shot him. The two of them meet, that was when Sol finally remembered what happened. The Battle of the Couriers was a war that shook the earth of Nevada, California, and Arizona. Even folks from the Sierra Madre felt the earth shake when the Couriers' fist clashed. Ulysses was much stronger, but Sol's determination kept him going, in the end he finally convinced Ulysses to stand down. Telling Ulysses that he had hope in Vegas, hope in Mr. House to rebuild society. The missile launch could easily be disabled. But Sol saw an opportunity, the Mojave is becoming more and more like the Divide to him. His home, a place where at the moment NCR and Legion are clawing at each other, just like they did in the Divide. He decided to rescue the Mojave once more from the claws and the hooves. Lauching the missiles to both the Long 15 and Dry Wells.

Ulysses and Sol remembered the good old days after that, they days where they met without the burden of either bear or bull on their shoulders. they decided to travel with each other again, until the end of the road.

Faction: Mr. House
Sol had talked to both Caesar and Mr. House, although he hated Caesar at first, he slowly realized that that this apocalypse had changed the world. There are new problems now, problems that old world government and their solution cannot solve. What we need is unification. A leader who is neither corrupted nor will he die. And Mr. House fitted the bill for both. Sol killed Caesar eventually (after many weeks of philosophical conversations), he killed Caesar not out of hate, but out of respect. He let Vulpes go back to Arizona, because Lanius will destroy the Legion if he becomes Caesar. Mr. House, smart, incorruptible, and most importantly immortal is something that Sol is willing to support, because Vegas is Home now. Home means Nevada.
This is my OC in Fallout New Vegas, I did a lot of role playing (at least in my head) to get here. Probably a bit too wordy. Used a few mods to get to the appearance I like the best. I didn't use any mods that are lore-unfriendly. Just to get the appearance right.
Some Mods I used:

Fallout belongs to Bethesda and Obsidian, I created the character in the game and using the mod mentioned above.

Wow, you did a great job at story telling with this.  I love the picture you painted and this was way cool hearing about the Divide this way.  Very, very nice my friend.  Sol sounds like a great character and very unique as well.  I'm glad to also see another Courier let Ulysses live.  I did too, but didn't nuke anyone.  Here's a cool screenshot you might like of my Travis and Ulysses.  I play on PS3 by the way.  badcowboy69.deviantart.com/art…
